Founders Joann Boccio & Shea Bocchino come to us with a combined 40+ years of cheerleading experience and a shared passion for helping aspiring cheerleaders reach their full potential. They are both USA Cheer Members with certifications in Coaching Youth Athletes, Cheerleading Safety & Risk Management and Athlete Protection. In addition to their cheerleading background, Joann & Shea bring to Elite a combined 35 years of corporate professionalism from the investment banking and tech industries.  ​

Joann, a proud New Jersey native, discovered her passion for cheerleading at the young age of six and quickly excelled in the sport. Her dedication and skill carried her through high school and into the early years of her college career. With a strong background both on and off the mat, Joann brings a wealth of experience to our program. Professionally, she has held a position at a prestigious global investment bank, served as an Assistant Coach for a respected youth cheerleading program, and is a Certified Nutritionist—adding a well-rounded perspective to athlete development and performance. Now residing on Long Island with her husband and two daughters, Joann is thrilled to bring her expertise and energy to our Elite family, coaching not only her own children but also the next generation of standout athletes.

Shea, also a New Jersey native, began her cheerleading journey at just seven years old, competing with Pop Warner and quickly developing a deep passion for the sport. Her commitment carried her through high school and into college, where she competed as a Division I athlete—demonstrating not only skill, but resilience at the highest level. Following her collegiate career, Shea returned to coach her high school team, sharing her knowledge and passion with the next generation of athletes. After relocating to New York, she went on to serve as the Director of a local youth cheerleading program and is currently working at an asset management firm. Shea lives on Long Island with her husband and two daughters and brings a blend of experienced coaching and professional experience to the Elite family. She currently coaches her daughters and is also excited to train our talented athletes.
